SWEAT, SOUNDS & STORIES – Exhibition call out

NEW EXHIBITION CALL OUT SWEAT, SOUNDS & STORIES? Curated by Cliona Murphy & thirtythree-45.

Open Call: A love letter to your old band T-shirts
We’re curating an exhibition of worn threads and the lives they’ve lived—
and we’re inviting your old frayed relic of band T-shirt to take its place on the wall in an exhibition at the Kiosk project arts space Drogheda.

Go on—
open that drawer.
Climb into the attic.
Reach for the bag at the back of the wardrobe.
Unfold the quiet archive of who you were.
Let them breathe again—those old band T-shirts.
Faded, frayed, full of memory.
Carriers of sweat, sound, and story.
We’re calling on you to liberate one.
Choose a shirt. The one.
And write it a letter—
or maybe a love note,
or an elegy.
Tell us how it found you.
Where it took you.
What it meant, and what it still means.
The gigs, the nights out, the friends, the strangers,
the versions of you it held close.
Did it make you feel seen? Loud? Loved?
Did you wear it thin?
Tell us what you did together—
back when you still fit each other just right.
This isn’t just about fabric.
It’s about memory.
It’s about music.
It’s about you

Selected shirts and stories will also be part of a companion publication.

It’s about music.
Its about fashion.
Its about memory.
It’s about you.

What you need to know.

We are inviting you to send a photo of your chosen band t-shirt & letter to 33fourty5@gmail.com by Sunday, 8th June.
We’ll select as many as possible for the exhibition at the Kiosk ,Drogheda and we aim to include a selection in a companion publication (with your permission of course!)
Exhibition planned to take place in August.
